What is Pholium?

Pholium is an iPad app allowing users to create high quality digital multimedia photo books for their iPad device and seamlessly give those books to others – iPad to iPad via Wifi transfer through our cloud AND, beautiful photo quality multimedia enabled printed books ordered straight from their iPad and in the app. A Pholium book goes beyond the conventional book experience and utilizes the high quality graphics, multimedia experience, and the tactile experience available on the iPad.

What sources can I use for images in Pholium?

However you get your images into your iPad Photo app, whether it be syncing with iPhoto, iCloud, iTunes, or wirelessly, once there those that you select are easily imported into your Pholium Gallery to be included in the books you create — and your Gallery photos can be organized and remain there for inclusion in your books at any time. Alternatively, you can import images directly from Facebook and Instagram into your Pholium Gallery.

How does the publishing process work?

Pholium’s cloud handles publishing for you, seamlessly. After setting up your account within the app, you will have the opportunity to distribute e-books you’ve created. After completing a book, you “publish” it to your Library. To give it to recipients you choose, simply click Send, and Pholium will walk you through the process. With each new book you create you may give copies of it to unlimited recipients. After your book is uploaded from Pholium to your iCloud or Dropbox, your recipients are notified via push notification on their iPad and via email. Your recipients with Pholium have the option of automatically downloading your e-book inside the app and enjoy the full Pholium experience or seeing a web version via a link; the latter allows your recipients who do not have an iPad to see your completed e-book.

Can I publish my novel using Pholium?

Pholium does include the ability to add text and of course you may create any type of book you want. However, Pholium is designed for creating multimedia print and photo e-books and provides a rich photo print and e-book experience.

Your Pholium Experience

Step 1. Collect

Import your photos from your Photo albums and social networks into your Pholium Gallery. Organize them for your book-making and edit them to make them look their best.

Step 2. Create

In your Studio, create books manually or use Pholium’s auto layout feature. Fine-tune by changing photos, adding text and audio captions, and linking videos. Freely move, rotate, and rescale your photos – your options are unlimited.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Publish your completed books to your Library to enjoy the interactive experience. Tap the photos to full screen and larger, watch your rotated images come to life, listen to your audio captions, and watch your linked videos.
