A message from the founders of Pholium…
Three years ago we set out to prove that the iPad could not only be a fantastic image consumption tool but a fantastic creation tool as well. Using high-end coffee table books as our benchmark we set out to develop an app that enabled users to create high-quality, multimedia books and share them with others. Pholium was the embodiment of that goal.
Since our first release in April of 2012, Pholium has been responsible for a number of groundbreaking features including the ability to access multimedia in printed books, photos that lift off of the page and come to life, the freedom to create unlimited photo layouts that are unencumbered by templates, and more. . .
As you may know the photography category is one of the most competitive in the App Store. While we’ve worked tirelessly over the last few years to innovate and grow the Pholium user base, our efforts have come up shy of our expectations and our ability to continue supporting the app. As a result we’ve decided to remove Pholium from the App Store and terminate all support and infrastructure for the app as of August 31, 2014. Until that time you are free to order hardcopies of any of your books and share books with others. Prior to August 31, 2014, if you want to continue to view books on your iPad after that date, you must download any books to your device that you may have archived. After August 31, 2014, you may still access books on your iPad until an iOS update renders the app unusable as we will no longer update the app.
Thank you for your support of Pholium and we hope you’ve enjoyed using it as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it!
